Do you want to make a difference by making a positive impact within the community?
The Community Wardens work across the borough, acting as a highly visible presence, within a designated area. They link to all sections of the community, working in partnership with other agencies including the Police, Fire & Rescue Service, local groups and organisations, local schools etc.
Wardens seek to improve the well-being of local residents and make their neighbourhoods safer, cleaner and more enjoyable places in which to live. They visit schools, day centres, local businesses and liaise closely with other agencies and departments within the borough to try to solve problems in the community as quickly and efficiently as possible.
Can you be part of the Community Warden Team?
The successful candidate will be passionate about serving the local community through a flexible approach and possess an understanding working as part of a team. They will be committed to a problem solving approach and have demonstrable communication and organisational skills, and be familiar with working in a customer focused role. In return, Calderdale will invest in your full ongoing training and accreditation to fulfil your duties.
This role includes alternate weekend working and a full UK Driving licence is desirable.
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expect all staff to share this commitment. Applicants to post will require a DBS (formerly CRB) from the Disclosure and Barring Service before the appointment is confirmed.
