Calderdale are creating a new service within the Community Safety and Resilience Team designed to provide a 24hour Wardens Service to benefit the residents of Calderdale.  This team will have responsibility to deliver CCTV monitoring, provide visible patrols across Calderdale and facilitate the Council’s out of hours emergency response to critical incidents such as flooding or increased community tension.

Wardens will act as ambassadors for the Council, delivering a high visible presence to promote a positive image of Calderdale. Working with Police, Fire and other partner organisations the team will work in Calderdale’s Town Centres, residential communities as well as parks and open spaces, proactively assisting in the reduction of crime and anti-social behaviour. The wardens, through prevention, engagement, education and enforcement action, will make Calderdale a safer place to live and visit. We are dedicated to being the best borough in the North.

Can you be part of this dynamic new team?

The successful candidates will be passionate about serving the local community through a flexible approach and possess a strong team mentality. They will be committed to decreasing the fear of crime, have demonstrable communication and organisational skills, and be familiar with working in a customer focused role. In return, Calderdale will invest in your full on-going training and accreditation to fulfil your duties. Grade C or above in GCSE English (or equivalent) is essential and a full UK Driving licence is desirable.

The successful candidates for these roles will be subject to a satisfactory Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check at the appropriate level prior to appointment, along with other relevant employment checks.

For an informal discussion please contact Sarah Barker on 01422 392870.
