Newground has been delivering social change within communities in the north of England for around 30 years. We have recently secured European Social Fund funding under the Works Better programme and are looking to add a new role to our recently established team in Calderdale.
This role is ideal for someone with a passion to make a difference to people’s lives. We are looking for a candidate with the enthusiasm to develop the skills and experience of people seeking employment. The post-holder will deliver a wide range of employability, digital and life skills sessions that are up to date and engage participants of different abilities and needs.
It is essential you work with candidates during the sessions to identify their strengths and address any barriers to them getting a job. The post holder will deliver personal development, digital skills and employability training in groups at locations throughout Calderdale. The post-holder will work with the Works Better team in Newground and with the wider Works Better partnership to support a caseload of clients.
Experience of delivering training to individuals and groups that facing multiple issues is essential; as is an understanding of dealing with a range of agencies working together to support individual clients into work.
The role requires a full driving licence and access to a vehicle insured for business use and appointment to this post is subject to an Enhanced check endorsed by the Disclosure and Barring Service.
The job purpose is:
- To plan, deliver, monitor & Evaluate training programmes which enhance employability and personal development for adults 18+.
- Working with community members to address any barriers that prevent them becoming work-ready and finding employment.
- To work in partnership with Job Centre Plus, jobs and skills agencies, voluntary, community and faith sector organisations, improving communication and encouraging joint work to address worklessness.
